If you live in Mesa, you've probably driven past us. Harvil Auto Body sits at 2338 E Broadway Rd in Tempe, near Loop 101 and right by the Tempe–Mesa line. Our family has run this shop since 1975. Four generations in, we still fix cars honestly, carefully, and to factory standards.
Why Mesa Drivers Come to Our Tempe Shop
You have lots of body shops to choose from in Mesa. Many drivers pick us because we're close and family-owned, and because we've been at the same spot since the 1970s. When you call, you reach the people who own the shop.
Getting here is simple. Distances are approximate, and times assume light traffic:
- Downtown Mesa: Head straight west on Broadway Road. It's about 4 miles, or 8–12 minutes.
- West Mesa and Dobson Ranch: Take Dobson Road north, then Broadway west. It's about 2.5 miles, or 6–10 minutes.
- East Mesa (Superstition Springs): Take US-60 west, then Loop 101 north, and exit at Broadway. It's about 14 miles, or 20–25 minutes.
- North and Northeast Mesa (Falcon Field): Take Loop 202 west, then Loop 101 south to Broadway. It's about 15 miles, or 23–28 minutes.
If your car isn't safe to drive, call us first and we'll talk you through your options.
Our Auto Body Services
- Collision repair: We take the car apart to find hidden damage, then restore it to its pre-accident condition.
- Frame and structural repair: We measure and realign the frame to OEM specifications.
- Paint and refinishing: We use computerized color matching for anything from a spot repair to a full respray.
- Paintless dent removal (PDR): We fix small dents without sanding, filler, or new paint.
- Glass: We repair chips and cracks and replace windshields, side glass, and rear glass.
- Extras: We also do headlight restoration, detailing, and polishing.
We follow OEM repair procedures on family cars, luxury imports, and EVs. Our technicians are I-CAR certified. General Manager Matt Harvil holds I-CAR certifications in steel structural welding and in steel and aluminum MIG welding. You can see real repairs on our Our Work page.
You Choose Your Body Shop, Not Your Insurer
Arizona law lets you choose your own repair shop. Your insurer can suggest a "preferred" shop, but it can't make you use one. Just tell your adjuster you're choosing Harvil Auto Body in Tempe. To learn more, read Can I Choose My Own Body Shop in Arizona?
How the Insurance Process Works
- Get a free estimate. Walk in, call, or request one online.
- Tell your insurer you chose us. We'll work with your adjuster directly on approvals and paperwork.
- We repair your car. If we find more damage after teardown, we'll explain it to you and get it approved before we continue.
- Need a rental? We can arrange one through our partners.
- Pick up your car. We give it a safety and quality inspection before you get your keys back.
We work with all major insurers, including State Farm, GEICO, Progressive, Allstate, Farmers, USAA, and more.
Our Limited Lifetime Written Warranty
Every repair comes with a written certificate. It's a Limited Lifetime Written Warranty that covers our metal work, paint, and collision-related mechanical repairs for as long as you own the vehicle. Parts are covered by the supplier's warranty, and we'll help you with any claim. The warranty is not transferable, and some exclusions apply, such as rust, road chips, and future accidents. You can read the full terms on our warranty page.
What to Expect When You Come In
- You don't need an appointment for an estimate. Bring your insurance information and your claim number if you have one.
- We're open Monday through Thursday only. If something happens over the weekend, call us Monday or request an estimate online.
- Repair times vary. Small dents and PDR usually take 1–2 days. Bigger collision repairs can take a week or more. We'll keep you updated throughout.
- Paint care matters. Don't wax your car or use silicone products for 60 days after pickup, because that voids the paint warranty.
