Our story began in 1910 with the Harvil family operating a Studebaker dealership in Chesterton, Indiana. By 1958, Fred Harvil Sr. founded Fred’s Auto Body, a shop built on honest work and meticulous craftsmanship. In 1974, the family moved to Tempe, Arizona, where Fred Harvil Jr. and Tim Harvil established Harvil Auto Body.

Today, under the leadership of Tim’s son, Matt Harvil, we continue to uphold our family’s legacy while investing in the latest equipment, I-CAR certifications, and OEM repair standards. From everyday family cars to high-end luxury vehicles and EVs, our team delivers precision, safety, and a polished finish you can trust.

With more than 18 years of experience, Matt ensures every repair — whether on a daily driver, an EV, or a luxury car — is handled with integrity and precision. Outside of work, he enjoys grilling for friends and family, racing his car, and lending a hand in the community.

As a cornerstone of Harvil Auto Body’s history, Fred Harvil embodies the values of honesty, hard work, and community. His leadership has shaped Harvil into one of Tempe’s most trusted collision repair centers. Fred enjoys classic cars, attending local car shows, relaxing on the beaches of Rocky Point, and spending time in the cool mountain air of Pinetop, Arizona.

With decades of experience, Tim Harvil brings unmatched expertise and craftsmanship to every repair. Dedicated to upholding the Harvil legacy, he takes pride in mentoring the next generation and delivering safe, reliable results. His passion for cars extends beyond the shop. In his spare time he enjoys working on his racecar and his classic vehicles.
